Oh how interesting - I visited a friend in Barcelona and all they drank over there was Vermouth. So I just assumed it was something Spanish. Living in Milan I should've recognized the Campari taste, I guess!

Good to know about the Spanish connection! I didn't know the enjoy Vermouth in Barcelona.

When I was in Bellinzona, I hadn't heard of Vermouth and that's not far from Milano or Torino... Is going to be interesting to find out what the locals drink. 😀

I'm intrigued, are you from Milan or working there?

I work there (since about a year) so don't take my word as that of an expert by any means! But I actually had my first Aperol spritz when I still lived in the Netherlands so I have acquired quite the taste for sweet/bitter brightly colored drinks over the years

So exciting you get to work there! I grew up in Switzerland in the Zurich area (but live in Canada now) but have never been in Milan or Turin. I have been to Bellinzona, Lugano and other Italian parts of Switzerland, which are not far from Milan. I had family in Rome and have been as a child a million years ago.

Aperol is another beverage on my list to try! Thanks for reminding me! (I followed you now, looks like you have an interesting substack!)
